+ I thought when I had it installed that it was ‘maintenance free?

Whilst the system itself may not require maintenance, the glass panels or as we call them’ your money makers’ actually perform at their peak when the sun can pass without being filtered by surface dirts.

+ Doesn’t the rain clean the panels?

The rain can rinse of light dust cover however soiling from salt, grime, droppings will cloud or build a film on the glass. Like most glass, a soft contact clean is required to move and remove these pollutants. It’s a lot like your car windscreen, try leaving that outside for 6 months and you’ll see how important clear glass would be for your electricity generation.

+ Can’t I just do it myself?

It's not impossible, but please consider the risks associated with working on a wet roof with hoses. Falls from height are the largest cause of injury in workplaces and ladders are up there too! A spot free finish clean (the required outcome) is very hard to achieve unless you use filtered pure water systems and soft brushes.

+ So How often should I clean it?

Check with your manufacturers warranty. Most will recommend cleaning your solar panels every 6 months. A great deal depends on the conditions of where you live eg. Coastal salt, industrial pollution, trees and droppings. You choose, but rest assured, call us in and we will get you the optimum yield.
